Respite care can sometimes be the little thing that make a big difference to your family.
Having some time away from your children is an often-overlooked element of parenting, but it is a great way to get some ‘me time’ or relax and reconnect with your partner or friends.
After a break, parents often come back a lot more relaxed, and better able to cope with day-to-day family life. For many it is all you need to change the whole dynamic of your family for an extended period of time.
Here at Pride Lands we already offer respite care where your children come to us, with our Adventure Weekends, Pride Escapes and Holiday Programme Overnight Sleepovers.
Lately though, we’ve been getting requests from some of our parents to do overnight respite care, either in their home, or away from it.
Tier 1 Respite Care is where we look after your kids in your home. Tier 2 Respite Care is for people that want to stay in their home while their kids get looked after by our experienced staff at the Wellington TOP 10 Holiday Park.
If you are a registered client at Pride Lands using one of our other services on an ongoing basis, then you may be able to utilise Pride Lands for Overnight Respite Care. This is a service designed to support our customers, overnight, at your place or away from it.
This service will be offered on a case-by-case basis and is only available for cubs that are enrolled in and using our other services. This ensures that we have had an opportunity to establish a good relationship with the cubs.
Tier 1 Respite Care
Where your kids are most comfortable.
If you need some time away from home, then you can rely on Pride Lands to be there for you and cater for your cubs.
Our overnight mentor will see to the normal routines of your home and implement structure, routines and fun activities to keep your cubs safe, happy and content at home.
Tier 2 Respite Care
Where you get to stay at home.
If you want to get a break and relax at home, then we have the option to take your kids to a ‘home away from home’ motel unit at the Top 10 Holiday Park in Seaview.
Our overnight mentor will keep your kids safe and entertained with a range of fun activities. At the end of the stay we drop your kids to wherever they need to be, home or school.
Just a reminder, our mentors are fully vetted, and we will only place your cub(s) with a mentor that they already know and have spent time with.

Siblings 4 years old and up.
How much?
Tier 1 – $37.00 per hour from 6pm-11pm and 6am the next morning until you arrive home, plus an overnight rate of $110.00. Discounts are available, see Our Fees page.
Tier 2 – $37.00 per hour from 6pm-11pm and 6am the next morning until you arrive home, plus an overnight rate of $110.00, plus the cost of the accommodation – $230.00 per night for 1-2 cubs, or $265.00 for three cubs.

A Wild Card, which costs $70 and last a year, gets you 15% off most Pride Lands services. Contact our office to find out more.
Transport?
We come to you, or take your kids away. As part of the package, we can provide pick-up and drop-off services. i.e. we can pick children up from school, take them home and then run our Overnight Care. See Shuttle Services page for more details and prices.
